Acoustic Blend Cafe--Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010

For those who don't know or don't remember  the Acoustic Blend Cafe helps to promote local performers and businesses.  It also provides a welcoming gathering place for people to enjoy great music, delicious food and drink, and lots of camaraderie. Each event has a feature performer.  After the feature there is an open mic for any one who wants an opportunity to perform.   It can be anything you wish - comedy, story telling, singing, instrumental or whatever.  Come on out and show us your stuff.  Whether its brand new or you've been performing it for years we'd love to hear it.  Its a great way to work out your jitters or practice strutting your stuff in front of a very friendly and forgiving crowd.  After all its all about helping to promote performers and those that are up and coming.

We hope to keep the summer heat sizzling with this fantastic line up:

Saturday September 18 -  Blendz - If you've been to ABC before then you've definitely heard Blendz.  A unique group of four people that have opened for all the acts last year.  Showing great versatility in being able to adapt to many styles of music these talented musicians will be taking the stage as the feature performers this month.  Putting their own twist on cover songs by adapting them to their instrumentation and vocal harmonies.  There will be a nice array of songs from Celtic, Motown, folk songs, easy listening and lots of songs to clap, tap and sing along to.  You might even hear some great stories from this summer.

Friday October 15 - Virgil Scott with Rick Maltese - Singer, Performer, Story Teller, all around crowd pleaser.

Saturday November 13 - Nikky Loney and Friends - Singer Song Writer with her own easy listening style and witty lyrics.

Saturday January 22 - Mariachi Fuego - Real Mexican flavour

Saturday February 19 - Jazzical Class - Mohawk College jazz and classical students strut their stuff.

Saturday March 19 - Don McGeoch - Irish, Scottish and comedic songs

Saturday April 16 - Wendy Snider -  A rising country star just returning from Nashville with a CD release

Saturday May 14 - 4 Over 40 - Male a Capella group

Local roaster Red Hill Valley Coffee Trade will be providing some wonderfully brewed fair trade coffee.  Tea and juice will also be provided, along with tasty home-made desserts.

So don't be shy.  Bring a friend or three and come out this season to hear some truly amazing home grown talent or to do some performing yourself at our open mics.

It's always a good time at The Acoustic Blend Cafe!
