January at the Acoustic Blend Cafe
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. The Acoustic Blend Cafe is hot and excited about the line up for 2012. We left off in 2011 with Alfie Smith bringing us his strong soulful blues and a deep powerful voice that made heads turn and kept the audience captivated. His performance had a rich southern quality that made you feel like you were in the heart of Blues Country. He also welcomed up his partner Nicole Christian, to sing and play flute for a few numbers. Together they are truly a dynamic duo that you don't want to miss. Nicole has agreed to come to ABC next season to be a feature performer in November.
Moving from Blues to Bluegrass, 2012 at Acoustic Blend Cafe starts off with local group "Hometown Bluegrass". Entertainment value is what Hometown Bluegrass is all about. You'll have to go a long way to find a group of people who enjoy what they're doing more than these folks. Brought together for their love for Bluegrass music they combine unique skills, years of experience, and personalities needed to produce an exciting and highly entertaining show. During the evening you will experience traditional bluegrass, original music, humour, and gospel music guaranteed to keep your toes tapping for weeks to come.
While your toes are tapping and your feet are stomping enjoy some homemade baking and treats. Take in the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee from local coffee roaster Red Hill Coffee Trade, our featured coffee, in Dark Roast, Light Roast and Decaf. You can visit their website www.redhillcoffee.com . Other beverages offered will be a small assortment of teas, juice and pop.

The Acoustic Blend Cafe, affectionately known as ABC, helps to promote local performers and businesses. It also provides a welcoming gathering place for people to enjoy great music, delicious food and drink, and lots of camaraderie. Each event has a feature performer. After the feature there is an open mic for any one who wants an opportunity to perform. It can be anything you wish - comedy, story telling, singing, instrumental or whatever. Come on out and show us your stuff. Whether its brand new or you've been performing it for years we'd love to hear it. It’s a great way to work out your jitters or practice strutting your stuff in front of a very friendly and welcoming crowd. After all it’s about helping to promote performers and those that are up and coming. The season for ABC runs from September to May.
So don't be shy. Bring a friend or three and come out to hear some truly amazing home grown talent or to do some performing yourself at our open mics.
It's always a good time at The Acoustic Bend Cafe!
